Abercorn Common
Location: Savannah, Georgia
Certification: Silver, 2006

Abercorn Common was the first retail center in the United States to become LEED Certified. Located on one of the busiest intersections in Savannah, we were able to bring awareness about green building to a new audience.

The property is owned and developed my Melaver, Inc. This was one of the first properties they transitioned in an effort to green their entire real estate portfolio. As a consultant, I worked to transform their business operations as well as their real estate portfolio. We also created the need for a permenant Sustainable Initiatives position within the company.

Their core values are to "Do Right, Learn, Serve and Grow." This project was a balance to achieve all of these. We worked to create a sustainable property while also educating the users and giving back to the community.

For more information on the property visit www.abercorncommon.com or www.melaver.com
