This transit station was designed to allow for the expansion of the Buenos Aires subway system. One of the oldest subway systems in the world it is still a primary mode of transportation today. Originally each line was developed privately and independently so today they need some work to become more coordinated.
This station was designed to be a hub between six subway lines, several bus lines and several new light rail lines. Located in an area of significant growth that is currently separated by a canal, this station would tie the two areas together provide for easier access to the newly developed area.
Buenos Aires is not afraid of bold or new architecture. Located just down from the pedestrian bridge by Calatrava this is designed to provide another focal point within the city.
